He Will Work Signs and Wonders On Your Behalf
Kathi Pelton
I think that there are times that we forget that God still works signs and wonders. We can get so caught up in the natural and earthly things that we forget the power of the supernatural God that we serve.
BUT HE STILL WORKS SIGNS AND WONDERS ON OUR BEHALF!
We must remind our souls that in the same way that God worked signs and wonders on behalf of the men and women in the Bible— he has not changed in our days and times.
“He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, he who has saved Daniel from the power of lions.” Daniel 6:27
Throughout our lives there are times where each one of us need to be delivered and rescued. We have an enemy that seeks to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10a) but the enemy’s power to bring destruction does not compare with God’s power to deliver and rescue us from evil. He delivered Daniel from the power of lions, he delivered David from the power of lions and he will deliver you and I from the powers that are greater than us.
There are also many times in our lives that we need some real signs and wonders to occur to bring the breakthrough that we need. Do not shy away from asking for and believing that God will work both signs and wonders on your behalf. I have seen them, I have experienced them and I still stand in awe that he works on my behalf so powerfully.
One of the first signs and wonders that I ever experienced was when I was 20 years old. I was newly married and my husband and I moved across the country from our home in California to attend Bible college. We spent every cent we had to get there and to secure an apartment, pay tuition and travel cross-country. When we arrived it was mid-summer and the weather was over 100° and extremely humid. But we had forgotten to pay to have the electricity turned on in our apartment and we were completely out of money.
After a hot and miserable first night in our new apartment with no lights and no air conditioning we got ready to go to our first Sunday service at our new church. This was a very large church and one of the side walls was all glass so that you could see outside. During the worship portion of the service my young husband was at the altar on his knees praying for God to help us. I remained in my seat and was looking out at the scenery through this wall of glass. While I was looking out I noticed an old man with white hair walking outside. The strange part that caught my attention was that this man was wearing a trench coat! I couldn’t believe that anyone would wear a coat in such extreme heat. My eyes kept watch on him until I could no longer see him.
Then, much to my surprise I saw this white haired man in the trench coat coming down the church aisle and when he reached my row he walked down it and stopped when he got to me. Then he said, “This is for you.” And he handed me the exact amount of money that we needed to turn on our electricity! He then turned around, exited the row, walked back toward the church door and left the building. I quickly turned to see him through the wall of glass windows but he was nowhere to be seen— he just disappeared!
I have absolutely no doubt that he was an angel that the Lord sent to rescue us and to do a sign and wonder on our behalf. This was our first miracle on our journey as a married couple but it surely would not be our last.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:7-11
We asked and he brought us exactly what we needed. Your Father in heaven wants you to ask for help, to ask for signs and to ask for wonders that leave you with good gifts— and leave you in awe!
It is time to not only ask, seek and knock but to expect that he will answer you with what you need. He will not give you a stone when you ask for bread or a snake when you ask for fish. HE IS GOOD!
The young 20 year old who sat in the church that day, not knowing what we were going to do, had no idea that his answer was going to come in the form of an angle handing me exactly what we needed but God wanted me to know (without any doubt) that the gift and the answer came from him alone.
That moment carried me through many moments in my future where I would need God’s supernatural help— and it always came.
His message for you today is this: HE STILL WORKS SIGNS AND WONDERS ON YOUR BEHALF!

The Yes That Says, “Be it unto me according to your will.”
Kathi Pelton
Sometimes your “Yes” to Jesus comes with great excitement and joy but other times your “Yes” comes with the sober awareness of sacrifice and cost. But it is then that it is accompanied by the awareness and posture that cries out, “Jesus, you are worthy of it all!”
These beautiful and sobering times remind me of Mary, a teenager being visited by the angel of the Lord who announced that the Holy Spirit would cause her to conceive a child, the Messiah. She had to be keenly aware of at least some of the cost: reputation, misunderstanding, accusations and so much more. Yet, in that moment of being chosen her response was this,
“And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38
“Be it unto me according to your word.” Those words have become the deepest cry of my life. I would pray them in the days of my youth with little understanding of the weight that they carried— or the privilege and cost they would extract. Though I’d never change that innocent response of the youthful me, today when I pray it I understand the weight of taking up my cross and following him.
The beauty has far outweighed the cost and we choose not to count the cost but rather to count it all joy! He is so worth it all and making his worth known throughout the earth is what we live for. To see Jesus receive His full inheritance is our greatest joy. He gave his all so how can we give any less; even in the moments that our whispered yes has the fragrance of sacrifice upon it?
I believe every yes is a pleasing offering to him but the yes that is accompanied by tears and an awareness of truly having to let go of your will to receive his, is especially beautiful to him.
If you are in a YES moment— either for the first time or you’ve lost count because you have made this your lifestyle, then remember that the only regret you will ever have at the end of your life will be the time you held anything back from him. Your ALL is the only offering that is fitting for the God who gave his ALL.
When the Lord visits you (like young Mary), because he has chosen you, respond with the only words that are fitting, “Be it unto me according to your word.” If tears and sacrifice accompany your response then know that your words are like the costly perfume in the alabaster jar poured over his feet once again. The fragrance of your yes fills the room
and brings such joy to his heart.
Let us always say yes...

Before I Formed You, I Knew You
Kathi Pelton
I recently went through a six month experience of healing and spiritual restoration after experiencing a traumatic situation. Though this article is not about the trauma or the situation, it is about an amazing truth that came out of this very painful time.
Throughout the months of wrestling and healing I noticed that I would often wake up at the exact same time: 6:13 am. While no one else would find those numbers significant, for me they were because I was born on June 13th (6/13). At first it was just something that I noticed but paid little attention to. But when it continued to happen I began to think that maybe God wanted to say something to me about my birth or about my life.
Then one day as I woke up once again seeing the time 6:13 I heard these words,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” Jeremiah 1:5 (a)
With those words a revelation came that took my breath away. I saw God’s original plan for each one of us and how beautifully unique and perfect it was. Then I saw myself in my physically unformed state and how even then I was fully formed in God’s eyes and heart. Who I was and who he created me to be (and who I will fully be in my glorified body one day) was perfect and beautiful to him.
Then I saw me put into my mother’s womb and as I grew physically, small imperfections were occurring. Then I was born— into an imperfect world to imperfect parents— and little by little “who he knew me to be before I was formed” was altered and redefined by life experiences, by sin, by traumas and by “Phileo” love (note: agape love is God’s unconditional love and phileo love is human conditional love).
God was showing me that he was using the crushing that I was experiencing to heal a deep wound within my soul that had altered me from who he created me to be. It was a wound that I was not consciously aware of because it had become so familiar that it had merged with my identity. To me, it was just part of who I am.
As I walked out this journey of healing I realized that he was restoring a part of me to the “me” that he knew before I was ever physically formed. And then I realized that his redemptive work in each one of us was restoring us to his original and unique identity that he created us to be. This revelation helped me to allow the Lord to go to the very root of the wound that altered a part of my identity during my formative years.
We are not who we think ourselves to be! But, we are being restored to who he knows us to be as we allow his Spirit to redeem us.
The final part of the revelation was that I saw each one of us after we leave our physical bodies being fully restored to “who he knew us to be before we were formed!” This may be obvious to some of you but it was like a trumpet blast of hope and expectation for me.
I am being restored now but will be fully restored and whole when I leave this body. I will finally be who he knows me and created me to be! And so will you.
Today, receive his words over your life,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”
He hasn’t forgotten and it is how he knows you even now. What you know of yourself is an altered version of a perfect and uniquely beautiful you. But he is restoring parts of you that you didn’t know existed. Sometimes it is in the crushing that true and pure oil is produced so do not resist because he may just be crushing the outer layer to allow the pure “you” to come alive and be restored.
“Lord, we invite you to redeem your original plan and identity that you created us in even before we were in our mother’s womb. Restore and bring forth who you created us to be before the foundations of the world existed. Thank you for your agape love that never stops making all things new.”
