No, I don’t start EVERY morning reading to my kids BUT… 📚I sure do try to and I have never once regretted it. It sets the mood for the entire day and when you intentionally start the morning with a focus around reading, here’s what will happen: 🧠 Cognitive Activation- By reading early in the day, you stimulate their brain, setting a positive tone for learning and exploration. 🧠 Predictability & Routine- We’ve heard it before…Children THRIVE on routine. Reading in the morning establishes a predictable pattern and a high expectation. 🧠 Language Exposure- You’re literally giving kids exposure to varied words which enhances their language skills, comprehension, and ability to express themselves. 🧠 Attention and Focus- Yep! Morning reading enhances attention and gives a concentration boost that can carry over into other activities throughout the day. 🧠 Emotional Connection- Whether you’re a parent or teacher, the warmth of your presence combined with the magic of reading fosters a sense of security and love. 🙋🏼‍♀️ So, I’m that mom that tries her hardest to be intentional with reading every morning, but I’m also that mom who’s (most of the time) in a rush and will sometimes just turn on a TV show so that we can get out the door on time. 🌟 My challenge to YOU is to try it tomorrow morning! See what happens! Maybe it looks like you reading to your children, your children reading to each other, listening to an audio story on the way to school, or if you’re a teacher.. slowing down the busy morning and just read to them.
