So much of my growing up, I felt like independence was what life was all about. “Be independent.” “I can do it myself.” Those messages drove me hard in my younger years, and at times life seemed to confirm that I couldn’t rely on anyone else, so I just kept going alone.

Then in college I learned the word interdependent, and something shifted. Life isn’t meant to be lived solo, siloed in our own little world. We are designed for connection, for building one another up. And honestly? It’s so much better doing life alongside others.
