My wife, Suzanne, and I have been married for over 40 years, have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Since moving to Highland 19 years ago we’ve been actively involved in the community. During my 35-year career I worked at both large corporations (GE, HCL and Motorola) and technology start-ups. I've managed software consulting groups, directed world-wide marketing for a public technology company, ov
erseen partners and alliances for a $600M division of a global IT services firm … . Over the years I've frequently been tasked with fixing troubled projects and programs and have always been able to make a positive difference. As a member of Highland City’s Council and as Mayor I was also able to resolve difficult problems. A hallmark of my public service has been improving the public’s access to information, organizing data to help make better public policy decisions, and reducing contention. As your County Auditor I will:
1) Work to ensure that all county agencies and the commission have the financial information they need to make good decisions and improve performance.
2) Provide residents improved access to budget and audit information.
3) Reduce contention between between county offices. We need to improve the level of trust between the public and the government that serves them. Accurate and accessible information helps to just that and helps everyone make better decisions. Utah County is a great place, I see a wonderful future for our community. I believe the glass is always half-full and that win/win solutions can be found if we work together.
