🌟Fun Facts about me.🌟

✨ I have three beautiful daughters.
Mya is 17. She is my rock. She is an emotion catching photographer and avid crafter just like her mom 💁🏻‍♀️. She’ll be going to college next year to be a teacher! 🥺 you’ll see her at @ Frilly Fest by MRR Beauty Studio painting cute little faces!

🙇‍♀️Rosie is 3 and she is my spitfire pistol. She’s wildly passionate and loves her family.

🙇‍♀️Reína is about to turn 2 and she’s my laid back, go with the flow, “I’m here for the food” baby.

✨ 👰🏻‍♀️I’m married!
My husband and I have been together for 13 years and Married for 5! Leonard Cottingham is an amazing chef. He works hard for us and never gives up. He’s been my biggest hype man since day 1.

✨I suck at social media. 😬
I try. I get excited and do everything one day and won’t do anything for a while. I don’t take enough pictures. I don’t post enough. I have tons of photos I never post. I plan to put forth more effort to do so!

✨ I had 7 wonderful years working at Dyer Hair Cuttery before I decided to go out on my own and open my own studio. I had wonderful leaders and coworkers there. I built my clientele there. I’ll always have a love and appreciation for my time there!

✨I do not focus solely on one aspect of the beauty industry. I love it all. I do hair. I do makeup. I do nails. I do body waxing. I love diversity to my day. Keeps my brain working.

✨ I can work on any hair texture.
In beauty school I had an amazing teacher that enforced “you should be able to do any hair that sits in your chair”. When is comes to braiding, styling, cutting, and coloring I have done extensive research and spent a great deal of time learning techniques for all. This is what you’d call my pride and joy of it all. I’ve taken classes. I’ve studied. I’ve practiced every which way I can.

✨My clientele is very diverse.
From young to older. All of the colors. All of the genders. All of the styles from edgy, modern, eclectic, wild, mature, you name it, I will do it. This is my favorite part. I can do braids in the morning, fades in afternoon, a color in the evening, a wax in between and nails tomorrow.

✨ My motto is, “You never stop learning”
While I express being well versed in the industry, there’ll always be challenges. I’ll never back down. I’ll do whatever it takes to learn something I do not know. I’ll almost never turn clients away because of something I cannot do. I’d rather reschedule to invest and research before I say no.

✨ I will always try to stay affordable.
Yes times are hard and we all need to make money. I have a mortgage and bills but so do my clients. I’ll make my money. You can’t take your money with you when you go. I don’t believe anything in the beauty industry should be unaffordable. I’ll always try to help if it means we do a less expensive way to achieve looks or sacrifice my time to make something work. This doesn’t mean I won’t get paid. This doesn’t mean I do things for free. It just means I want you to feel your best no matter what. I get paid in other ways with the way you feel when you leave my chair.

✨ Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment to introduce (or reintroduce) myself!

I’m Jessica, the owner of MRR Beauty Studio and Frilly Fest. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 2016, but my love for hair started long before that—I began braiding as a little girl, and it quickly grew into a lifelong passion.

While braiding will always have my heart, I’m passionate about every aspect of beauty. I work with all hair textures and specialize in custom color, blonding, curly/textured cuts, nails and airbrush makeup. Beauty school helped me discover a love for the science of color and the artistry behind creating looks that make my clients feel their best.

I truly believe you never stop learning. I’m always taking opportunities to grow, refine my skills, and bring the best techniques and services to my clients.
