Yesterday we said goodbye to the best dog I’ve ever known. Our Koji boy was loyal and true to the very end. His family meant everything to him and he would protect us at all costs. He was a true retriever and loved to fetch (especially in the water). He was a gladiator in his young years. As he’s grown older he would follow the kids around and just lay next to them-always watching out for his family. He traveled the country with us before we had kids. He was gentle, strong, brave, smart and a bit stubborn. There is a large hole in our home today and I miss him so so much. My kids have never known life without him. He was a blessing every single day. He is irreplaceable. We love you Koji, so much.

In honor of our big sweet boy, I’d love to hear a story about your favorite animal ever. I’ll start with our first experience with our Koji. We found him at the SPCA in California and when we first met him and played with him, he kept stealing Jordan’s hat, right off of his head and running around playfully. Jordan was in love immediately and so we took home a 7 month old flat coated retriever. He was our first family, he was such a good boy. He loved to 14 years old.
