President Gerald R. Ford was a Distinguished Eagle Scout who deeply valued integrity and public service. To honor that legacy, his foundation's annual writing challenge asks students - including Scouts - to respond to a thought-provoking prompt in 500-750 words.

The top prize includes more than recognition - $2,500 will be awarded.

The deadline for youth to submit drafts is quickly approaching (March 13, 2026, 5 PM EDT).
