Before medication, start with the foundations: nervous system, sleep, nutrition, and connection.π
Healing looks different for every family.
Before a child is medicated for the rest of their childhood, four things deserve a thorough look:
1. Their nervous system β is there subluxation, especially in the upper cervical spine?
2. Their diet β is there hidden inflammation from sugar, dyes, dairy, processed oils?
3. Their sleep β is the nervous system actually able to downshift?
4. Their connection β to themselves, to God, to community? An overstimulated, disconnected child cannot regulate.
Many families have walked into our offices with a recent ADHD diagnosis and, over time, have been able to reduce or eliminate medication under their physician's guidance after addressing these foundational pieces.
Not every family. But more than the medical world tends to acknowledge.
If your child has been labeled "hyperactive," "defiant," "sensitive," or "distracted" β their nervous system has a story. Let's listen to it together.
