Jodi Black’s memorial service is tomorrow, May 9th. It will commence at 3pm Eastern time at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 547 6th St NW, Hickory, NC 28601.

Afterwards, there will be a reception with games and stories about Jodi.

I understand the reality of the times. Gas is expensive, one airline just shut down, and planning a trip in less than a week just isn’t going to be feasible for some folks. So, the memorial service will be livestreamed on the church’s website and their page on UStream TV. Links are below:

I keep coming back to the same thought, how one person could touch so many lives in such a lasting way. The stories, the messages, the memories people have shared… it’s overwhelming in the best way. Jodi Black didn’t just pass through people’s lives, she showed up, she connected, she made people feel seen and part of something. She brought so much light, depth, and genuine care into every space she was in.

We are sharing her obituary, though it only captures a small piece of who she was. The love surrounding her and her family right now says so much more.

Her memorial will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hickory, North Carolina at 3:00 p.m. All are welcome and games will follow in the fellowship hall. Join us in celebrating an amazing life. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

If you have photos or stories of Jodi, I would be so grateful if you could message them to me (if you haven’t already sent them to Pinnacle for printing). I’m happy to print anything so we can include it as part of the memorial. And if you have a story you’d like read aloud during the service, we would truly love to share that as well.

After the service, we’ll continue gathering and sharing stories and playing games, because that’s really where her impact lives, in the connections she built and the moments she helped create.

The love and support shown to Clint and the girls has been incredible. It reflects exactly the kind of life Jodi lived and the community she helped build. We want to continue showing up for them in every way we can.

I know not everyone who wants to be there for Jodi's Honor Walk will be able to make it in person.

Clint has set up a livestream through Pinnacle’s YouTube so anyone who wants to be there, even from a distance, can still be part of this moment.

If Jodi meant something to you, and I know she did for so many, this is a way to stand with her, with Clint, and with the girls as we honor her together.
