Current and New Patients with United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plans HMO and HMO-POS. (ex. AARP Medicare Advantage, UHC Dual Complete, UHC Complete Care). Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Your plan now requires your P*P (PrimaryCarePhysician) to submit an electronic referral on the UHC website for each of your specialist providers, even if you are a current patient at their office. Please make sure your UHC plan has your correct Primary Care Provider attached to you. Your P*P office will need to fax the referral confirmation page to your specialist. This page has information such as the referral number, dates approved or number of visits approved un that referral number. Our staff will assist with contacting your P*P but your help is greatly appreciated.
