West Valley Fire Rescue (WVFR) is the largest fire district in Lewis and Clark County. Covering approximately 1,100 square miles, serving 20,000 residents, West Valley receives 1,000 emergency calls per year. Consolidation between Lewis & Clark County Fire District and WVFR in 2021, we now cover areas North, South, and West of the City of Helena. Currently the District is experiencing a population
The first three months of the year are in the books for West Valley Fire Rescue, and it’s been nothing short of busy.

Behind every one of these calls is a group of dedicated volunteers who drop what they’re doing—whether that’s time with family, sleep in the middle of the night, or a full day at their regular jobs—to answer the call.
And it doesn’t stop there.
They train. They prepare. They show up—again and again—ready for whatever comes next.
Not for recognition. Not for credit.
But because their community might need them.
