Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! Well, I suppose it is only Summer Solstice for people in the northern hemisphere, for all others, happy Winter Solstice!

For the longest day of the year, I have selected a couple of June photos featuring two extremes of landforms to be found in this great state! I must say, I am quite partial to the organically formed sandstone pillars found in Medicine Rocks State Park in the southeast corner of Montana. Though the Gallatin Range in my current 'backyard' is nothing to scoff at either!
