It’s almost 3:00 AM.

My shift ended hours ago, but my workday didn’t.

Tonight I’m preparing a corporate catering while dealing with a sciatica flare-up. After standing on my feet for hours, I finally had to sit down for a minute and recharge.

This is one of those moments people don’t usually see.

They see the finished food.

They see the business growing.

They see the posts.

They don’t always see the late nights, the aching feet, the sore back, the dishes, the prep, the cleaning, and the mental battle of finding enough energy to keep going.

Building something from the ground up isn’t glamorous every day. Sometimes it looks exactly like this. Sitting in a chair at almost 3:00 in the morning, knowing there’s still work to do before I can finally head home.

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because I want people to understand that every plate that leaves Compton Vegan represents time, sacrifice, consistency, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Every customer who trusts us deserves our best, whether they’re ordering one burger or an office lunch for twenty people.

I’m tired.

My body is tired.

But quitting has never been part of the recipe.

Time to get back to work. 💚🌱
