So wonderful to see Northern students celebrated!

This week we recognize some of our #FirstGen students in honor of National First-Generation Day! First Gen Day is celebrated on November 8th each year to promote the visibility of first-generation college students, faculty, and staff by recognizing their contributions and strength of character. This day acknowledges the determination and potential of first-generation college students in the educational landscape. First generation college students make up one third of all college students and represent 41.5 % of degree seeking students at Northern. We're proud of you, Lights! Join the Little River Institute this Friday for American Indian Heritage Day for Native Games with Hannah Haseagle on the SUB Lawn!

The Little River Institute is a student support center at Montana State University Northern that was established in 2015 through grant funding. The LRI provides mentorship, academic support, and cultural programming to all students at MSUN. They also house the Sweetgrass Society, a student-led Native American organization on campus, and provide professional development to faculty and staff.

MSUN students: join us on Monday at 2 pm at LRI for a Lunch & Learn for Sweetgrass Society. It's an opportunity for students to learn about SGS, meet the SGS advisors, and talk with other students. We'll provide a meal! Hope to see you on Monday!
