A significant part of the affordability crisis in CT is healthcare and skyrocketing costs. I sat with Mike Hydeck on Face the Facts to discuss, and talk about solutions I’ve offered over the years as ranking member of the Insurance & Real Estate Committee.

📺 Tune in to NBC CT tomorrow (6/28) at 10 AM for more.

A wonderful day in Bridgeport as the community gathered for a Juneteenth celebration with residents, community leaders, volunteers, and elected representatives.

Juneteenth reminds us that as the Civil War ended, the struggle for freedom and equality continues every day.

I’m proud CT recognizes Juneteenth as a state holiday. We should never take that for granted. This is an opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to treating one another with dignity, respect, and understanding.

Our diversity is one of America’s greatest strengths, and it is through diversity that we can build a more perfect union.

Congratulations to Fairfield Troop 82’s newest Eagle Scouts, George O’Neill, and brothers Arthur and Augustine Zarra.

It was a privilege to present each of them with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly at their Eagle Scout Court of Honor and celebrate their dedication, leadership, and service to our community.

Thank you to their families, Scout leaders, and mentors who helped guide them on this journey. Wishing these outstanding young men continued success in all that lies ahead.

This morning outside Fairfield Town Hall, I called for a pause and thoughtful revisions to Fairfield’s automated traffic enforcement program.

I support speed and red-light cameras as tools to improve roadway safety, especially in school zones. But with nearly 190,000 projected violations in one month and an estimated $3.2 million in monthly fines, it is clear we need stronger public education, better signage, and greater transparency.

This program must be about safety, not revenue. Any funds generated should go toward roadway safety improvements, awareness, signage, and education.

I want this program to succeed, but success depends on public trust. We need to pause, listen, learn from the data, and make adjustments that preserve the purpose of this important safety initiative.
