Now fast forward to 2026.

Capital Prep Middletown was the #1 application in the state in 2023.

By Connecticut’s own ECS funding formula — written into their own law — we should have been fully funded 3 years ago.

And they still chose to perpetuate the same cycle. To deny Middletown a public charter school with a track record of taking students from disadvantaged communities and getting 100% of them accepted into college.

They want to silence us
to quiet the thump-thump
they cannot bury in themselves.

THUMP. THUMP.

How can our State Senator claim to be an ally while denying our children access to a quality education? Capital Prep Middletown was ranked the #1 approved charter school opportunity, yet it’s still being blocked from opening. If we say we stand for equity, opportunity, and our children’s future, our actions should reflect that.
