I think the most significant corner of my music nerdery is that I firmly believe Prince tried to mimick what Zappa wanted to do with the 'Läther' albums (Sleep Dirt, Live in New York, Studio Tan, and Orchestral Favorites) on his own Dream Factory project, which eventually became Sign o the Times. Warner Bros was the culprit for dividing up their respective visions in both instances.
This video touches a bit on their shared headaches with Warner Bros, but really I will eat up any significant interaction they ever had (bonus points if Springsteen is somehow involved, but it's a rare occurrence).
