Actor Gary Sinise, best known for playing Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump, has turned his fame into a lifelong mission of service. In 2011, he founded the Gary Sinise Foundation, dedicated to supporting wounded veterans, first responders, and their families.

Since its creation, the foundation has raised over $300 million to fund programs ranging from mortgage-free smart homes for severely injured veterans to mental health services, resiliency retreats, and crisis relief for families of fallen heroes.

Beyond financial aid, the foundation has reached hundreds of thousands through direct support initiatives. It has provided over 950,000 meals to service members and their families, hosted more than 500 concerts worldwide through the Lt. Dan Band to boost morale, and continues to expand its outreach.

Sinise’s commitment has made him one of Hollywood’s most dedicated advocates for America’s heroes, embodying the same spirit of resilience that made his on-screen role so unforgettable.
