On this day in history Honorable Justice Jane Bolin was born. WeRise honors Jane Bolin and her family legacy.
Jane Matilda Bolin, LL.B. (April 11, 1908 – January 8, 2007) was the first black woman to graduate from Yale Law School, and the first black woman to join the New York City Bar Association and the New York City Law Department. In 1939, she was sworn into the bench of the New York City Domestic Relations Court, making her the first black woman to serve as a judge in the United States.
On this day in1974, Mr. Henry Hank Aaron hit his 715th home run.
We are grateful to Hank Aaron and others for reminding us that no obstacle is insurmountable.

Maryland Senate Passes Bill to Ban Police from Denying Fi****ms to Medical Ma*****na Users

On Friday, the Maryland Senate unanimously passed a bill that would prohibit the Maryland State Police from denying a medical ma*****na cardholder the ability to purchase a firearm.
Sen. Michael Hough (R) introduced Senate Bill 190 (SB190) on Jan. 13. Under the proposed law, a person could not be denied the right to purchase, possess, or carry a firearm solely on the basis that they are authorized to use medical cannabis.
On March 12, the Senate passed SB190 by a 45-0 vote.
