Welcome back, McKenzie! During her second summer interning with Commercial Construction, she'll be diving into pre-construction processes, invoice management, and safety protocols while working closely with our leadership team. Mackenzie is an incoming junior pursuing her engineering degree at James Madison University and will graduate in 2028. We hope she will consider Commercial Construction as her career home!

Commercial Construction Superintendent Andy Statland saw an opportunity to give back and he brought the whole family. Andy coordinated a mulch delivery and brought out a skid loader to help spread it across the Strength to Love II urban farm in Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood, with his family by his side to get the job done right.

Adaptive reuse of historic buildings presents unique challenges that are rarely a concern with other construction projects — and Commercial Construction is trusted to take them on.

First built in Baltimore in 1838, Upton Mansion was designed in the Greek Revival style and constructed with traditional materials like brick that have endured for nearly two centuries. Proper restoration and preservation of original masonry requires careful color matching of new mortar to the beautifully aged joints that have defined the building's character for almost 200 years.
