🎨 Artists, this is your chance to leave a lasting mark on Hampton!

The Hampton Commission on the Arts, in partnership with the Hampton Arts Foundation, is seeking artists from across the country to create two permanent public art installations in Downtown Hampton.

These landmark projects will celebrate Hampton’s history, identity, and community while adding vibrant new artistic experiences to our downtown streetscape.

📍 Project Sites:
🖌️ Site A: Settlers Landing Parking Garage – Large-Scale Mural
🗿 Site B: Corner of Queens Way & Kings Way – Public Art Installation or Sculpture

Teens ages 12-17, join The Hampton Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities and Hampton Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services every month for exclusive events designed just for you—brought to you by the Hampton Teen Summer Engagement Initiative.

✨ What to expect? Each Teen Thursday brings something new—karaoke with live DJs, fishing on the pier, pop-up skating, and more!

Join photographer and mixed-media artist ELEY about her exhibit Invisible to Others, an exhibit exploring blindness, perception, and visibility.

Learn the creative process from the artist. Discover how art can challenge the way we remember and connect, creating ways for stories to be shared, and experienced.

The exhibit continues through August 2, 2026. Free for all to visit!

Invisible to Others is presented in conjunction with the Hampton History Museum’s efforts to uncover and share the history of the Virginia State School for the Blind and Multi-Disabled. In this presentation, The Making of Invisible to Others creates a conversation between past and present. Both projects seek to illuminate experiences that have too often existed outside of public memory, while exploring new ways for stories to be shared, preserved, and experienced.
