After their second proof & into the belly of the beast.. Did you know ONE batch of conchas take 1.5-2 hours to make before they even hit the oven? Once in the oven these little babies take anywhere from 14-17 minutes to bake! I consider carry over time so I pull them out right before their bake is “complete”- this is where their soft, cloud-like & fluffy texture come from ☁️ Remember like all breads and pastries, conchas are best devoured within the same day of pickup! Otherwise store them in an air-tight container to maintain freshness. Pop in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften up after 24-48 hours 🧚‍♀️
