Built in 1946 to house the first Lincoln car dealership in Indiana, the building that stands at 5920 Hohman in the Great City of Hammond has played an important role in the city's history. Following the dealership, the building has been a grocery store, warehouse for Rosalee Clothing, and the offices of the law firm Beckman, Kelly & Smith until 2012 when a group of local creatives acquired the building and named it The Merge Building.

Today, The Merge Building is owned by Leon Dombrowski and Seda Turan and functions as a 17,000 s.f multipurpose office and commercial building.

Tenants include Dombrowski's Accucraft Imaging, a commercial printing/large format/direct mail/graphic design firm, AHA! - Arts Hammond Association, Art Book Binders of America, Books Brushes & Bands for Education, Cameli & Hoag PC, Green Light Creative, His Morning Glory Personal Services, HWC Engineering, Insure All Insurance, MCR Partners, Merge Investment, Prarie Healthcare, and SEDA inc.

Additionally, The Merge Building has hosted numerous art exhibitions and is now the home of Merge Walls, a stunning public art display of 25 renowned artists for people to enjoy 24/7/365.
