The renaissance festival industry was significantly impacted by the COVID pandemic. In order to provide an avenue for merchants, entertainers, and employees to earn a living, and for the mental health of our fans, we created the Pirates of the Pontchartrain festival. At the time, many festivals were still closed, resulting in hardships for many professionals in our industry. We are thrilled we were able to provide an avenue for members of our community we love so much. The time has come to focus on infrastructure and improvements of our major event, the Louisiana Renaissance Festival.
