This morning, our County Commissioners approved a moratorium on data centers in six of our townships.
I support the Commissioners’ decision to enact a moratorium on new data centers.
This is a reasonable and responsible step as we continue to learn more about the potential impacts these facilities can have on local communities, infrastructure, utilities, water resources, and the environment.
The Ohio House Select Committee on Data Centers is also gathering information and studying the impacts of data center development across our state. Taking time to gather facts and evaluate the experiences of other communities before making long-term decisions is simply good government.
A temporary pause allows us to make informed decisions that protect Butler County residents while planning for our future.
