Nadeau Farm
In the family since 1939. Currently offering fresh eggs and goat yoga.
Yesterday my post may not have conveyed the desired results. It was not meant to be solely about us. The same concerns can be applied to many farms. So let's dive a little deeper. Let's start with one of Aesop's Fables. "Sun and the Wind" gentle persuasion wins out. But what are the true consequences? The supermarket has persuaded you with the convenience of everything in one place. But what happened to all the local bakeries, butcher shops and delicatessens? So many gone along with the jobs. The banks persuaded you with the convenience of ATM's and online banking. But how many jobs and branches are gone now? Now concerns are rising with AI. Can we see any parallels with the above lessons? My point is. We are all in this together and we all need to understand how much we need each others support. One more thought. Is the statement "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" true? Or is it possible for the reaction to be far worse?

Since it's Mother's Day. Here are our most recent mothers. Top photo Blossom with her little one Pearl. Bottom is Hermione with Larry. Tough to get the little ones to stay still for the pictures.
So it was a challenging storm. Yesterday was such an effort just to make sure all the critters had water and were safe. As much equipment as we have to help deal with snow. It still required lots of shoveling inside the pens. Today was much better. Still cleaning up. The day started with a neighbor stuck in one of drifts across the road. Went to help with the tractor that has tires chains and a snow blower. Got them cleared out and off they went. later I noticed a town truck stuck in a drift on the hill. Out with the tractor again. Cleared the snow and he was able to back up. And slide back off the road. Cleared some more snow. By then the town loader showed up. He pulled the truck to safety. Later another loader showed up and did a decent job opening the street. So I have to credit where it is due. Hamden Public Works put in an impressive effort here on the hill. Thank You !
