Death in the Tarot is the Great Shape Changer. It does not point to a specific “death” of any one person, but rather a potent and dramatic shift in our lives. This card is not comfortable, and we as humans tend to balk at the idea of change- but in this position we are advised to ride with this change, to breathe it into ourselves and allow it to seep into our perspective. Take the changes as they come, holding onto the peace that we can foster in our inner core - acknowledging what is beyond our control to keep.

The Six of Wands. This card is about success, victory and accolades. It is the winner’s strut, showered in congratulations. It can be confusing to find this card in this position, as something that we must let go of in the coming week. It is not that we will not succeed, it is not a portent of doom, it is just and advisement that we need to let go of our need for acknowledgement. This is an important distinction to make to understand the message here- do not be motivated by your need to be rewarded. Do your works because they must be done, and make an effort to separate it from the needs of your ego.

This spread is a lesson in humbleness. Acknowledging the illusion of control we hide ourselves in, and accepting the changes that come.
