Honestly it is not about the ribbon or the gallery walls filled with my paintings. It’s about the people who inspired these paintings, the people who celebrated those moments with me and the people who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and the people who gave me the opportunity to do all of it.

1. My first ever watercolor teacher and I when I won a professional show 30 years after I won the Dane show as a 12 year old amateur with a painting i did in her class.

Seeing her 30 years later was one of the most amazing moments as an artist because she taught me more than any other teacher I’ve ever had.

2. The first time I was offered a feature at a gallery…galleries were something I never considered as Instagram was enough to sell my work. Enter Eric from Whitespace Art and Event and my perspective changed.

Some of my oldest friends and closest friends celebrated with me that evening including my junior prom date. 😂

3. Angie and Sarah from @girls.who.paint gave me a huge opportunity when they offered me a solo exhibition…their belief in me was an absolute honor.

The work was a celebration of a bunch of my loved ones and I got to enjoy that opening with my biggest cheerleader and BFF.

Gratitude for my friends and loved ones is what makes these events so meaningful to me…success with no one to share it with isn’t success.
