Hackensack Strong
We believe that if Hackensack had a competent city government that is willing to work with the residents, we can overcome the challenges that are stopping Hackensack from prospering. We believe in the strength and the character of the people of our community and we want you to believe in our determination to give you the kind of future you want for yourselves and your families. Let's get Hackensac
The people have spoken-the majority of people did not vote for the Labrosse team. They do not have consensus to govern. Mayor Labrosse stated that the election proves that they have been doing it right for the last four years because they won the election. Yes, they won but most who voted did not support their team because they have not governed justly and or honestly.
Friends and opponents take heed. The Labrosse team will engage in practices that most of us will oppose. We must exercise our right and duty to mandate that our local government does what we the people want them to do. Do not wait for a controversial issue to draw your attention. Pay attention, watch closely and question their intent and actions. Let them know that we can not and will not allow them govern in a manner that does not comport itself with our desires and values.
To those who chose not to vote-your vote did and does matter. The power of your vote is great, but it is your attention and voice that give your vote its real power. You can impact the actions of the government by challenging it when it goes against your wishes. Our government was never meant to operate in a vacuum. It was meant for the people to watch and hold elected office holders accountable for their actions. If we want better government then we must live up to our responsibilities and do our part.
Good evening friends. The votes have been counted and unfortunately we did not prevail. The Labrosse team won all five council seats.
On behalf of our candidates I'd like to thank all of you for your votes and support. We have started something that shouldn't end tonight. We fought for the issues that matter and they still matter. We fought for what we believe is important to all residents. All of us must continue to fight for those interest and we must hold our newly elected council accountable for their actions.
For the sake of Hackensack we pray that this new council does right by the residents and the city.
Stay tuned. There is more work to be done and your help is needed.
