Finally, Microsoft Teams now has better control over the camera.

Microsoft is solving one of the most irritating aspects of video conferences for Teams users. The software giant has revealed that it is working on a new version that will make it easier for customers to turn on or off their cameras during the call.

Teams users have long suffered from an overly complicated process to turn their cameras on or off. Microsoft 365 parent company claims it is finally resolved which seems to be apparent.

Rather than stumbling around with your mouse or keyboard to bring up the Meeting Stage and then push the Video icon. Now a single click of a button will allow the user to rapidly adjust their video status.

Summer is in full swing, and so many of our clients are traveling! Most people who travel, typically carry a computer, smartphone, or another device with them. These devices are known as endpoints which connect to different networks, whether that be a hotel, a corporate network, public Wi-Fi, or at a conference. Endpoints are the last stage of a network and this makes them the most at risk.

If threat actors can gain access to your specific device, they can then gain access to your corporate network, or your corporate email account which allows them to move laterally through the networks, scan the network from inside, or learn about your company and who your company owes money to. This often leads to ransomware down the line or an expensive corporate phishing exposure. Neither of these are something anyone wants.

Keep yourself, and your company safe this summer by ensuring you are protecting your company’s assets properly.

The Follina vulnerability, CVE-2022-3019, that was discovered by security researchers has been given a security patch by Microsoft to mitigate any negative effects of the attack.

Since first being found in late May 2022, Follina has been used notable by the Chinese TA413 hacking group targeting displaced Tibetan communities as well as in phishing attacks against
the US and the EU governments. It has also been abused by the TA570 Qbot affiliate to infect recipients with more Qbot malware.

Attackers who successfully exploit this zero-day can execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the calling app to install programs, view, change, or delete data, and even create new
Windows accounts as allowed by the compromised user's rights.

Microsoft issued CVE-2022-30190 regarding the Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool (MSDT) in Windows vulnerability. On Tuesday June 14, 2022, Microsoft issued Windows updates to address this vulnerability. It is highly recommended that all Windows systems be updated immediately to help to protect against any new Follina related attacks. Further instructions can be found here:
