Important Update Regarding HB445 and Our Commitment to You

As referenced in our previous shared post from Harrison H**p Enterprises, LLC., HB445 has officially passed and will go into effect on July 1, 2025.

At Pure and Simple, we have always been committed to responsible, transparent, and high-quality sales of CBD and THC products. From day one, we’ve made it our mission to:
• Source only from reputable companies
• Provide Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all our products
• Refuse sales to anyone under 21 years of age
• Fully educate our customers on product benefits and potential risks (including the possibility of a positive drug test when THC is present)

We’ve seen firsthand how helpful these products can be for a wide range of ailments, and we’re proud of the trust our repeat customers continue to place in us.

Now, about HB445…
While we support regulation that ensures product quality and safety, we do have concerns about how this bill was developed and what it entails:
• A $1,000 annual license fee and a $25,000 surety bond will be required for retailers.
• An additional 10% sales tax will be imposed on all h**p-derived products.
• Limits will be set on THC/CBD concentrations in consumables (like edibles and beverages).
• Retailers will be prohibited from sourcing products out of state or selling/shipping online.

We get it—the state wants its piece of the pie. But this bill feels rushed. There are no application forms available yet, and it seems like there hasn’t been enough consideration, particularly for CBD, which is non-psychoactive and federally legal.

We’ve always stood by the idea that education and quality matter. We like to jokingly tell our customers:
“You don’t buy your supplements at a gas station, do you?”
The answer is usually a resounding, “Of course not!” And the same should apply to h**p products. Retailers need to be knowledgeable and responsible, and unfortunately, that isn’t always the case in less specialized settings.
