Someone keeps leaving tiny bananas in the tree by my front door

I've lived here almost nine years. I don't have any new neighbours. This is the second banana in three months. To make things even weirder, when I threw this one out I found it to be bouncy instead of squishy, like it's made of silicone and not organic matter. Is this a cultural thing? A new prank the kids are doing? Or just a strange blessing from our strange universe?
