When no pain or swelling accompanies the sound, noisy joints are normal and usually not an indication of a problem. However, in perimenopause and menopause joint pain can happen due to lowering estrogen levels. This joint and muscle pain will often lead us to believe we should move less, which is the opposite of what the body needs.
