Rifle Coach Level 1 Certification Course - 03-04 Jan 2026

A Rifle Coach Level 1 course is being conducted Sat-Sun 03-04 2026 at Griffin Gun Club in Griffin, GA.

This is an excellent opportunity for coaches to expand their knowledge and interact with other coaches.

JROTC instructors should inquire to see if they may be placed on orders and have the training and travel covered.

Rifle coaches are trained and certified through a joint program involving USA Shooting (USAS - Olympic governing body), Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), and the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Instructors

COL (Ret) Kevin Mangan and Coach JP O'Connor are members of the National Coach Development Staff (NCDS). COL Mangan runs an excellent JROTC program and rifle team in South Carolina and has coached at the collegiate level. Coach O'Connor has been training advanced and elite athletes for 30 years, and has over 60 articles published by USA Shooting. Both coaches bring a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to the course.

Cost

Cost of the course is subsidized by a grant from the MidwayUSA foundation and is only $150 per coach. (Most courses are between $350 to $600.)
