I met a retired first responder recently who had several incidents on the job that caused PTSD and he has suffered and was seeking help. I met with the spouse separately and checked on thier support and what self care or counseling they have received for themself. The spouse said, "None, I"m coping." For 20 years this spouse has walked side by side and has discounted their own mental health...taking care of family, house, spouse, but setting themselves aside. Please, please, please folks, you have to care of yourself too!
