The Greer Centennial Lions Club held its first ever bass fishing tournament on Lake Robinson in Greer Saturday April 14th, 2018. There were 41 boats and more than 70 participants. The tournament drew mainly local fishermen from Greer and the surrounding areas however one participant was from Georgia. Monetary prizes were given out for Biggest Fish and 1st -10th place totaling $3,500!
The fundraiser for the Greer Centennial Lions Club raised money to purchase a glaucoma screening machine to be used at the upcoming Family Fest. The machine costs about $6,000 and the club has reached that goal thanks to the fishing tournament as well as grant money.
WINNERS:
Mark Bishop (Greer) and Andy McIntosh (Lyman)- 1st place, 19.34 total weight.
Randall Eubanks (Spartanburg) and Chad Powel (Welford) - Big Fish and 2nd place - 7.22 pound bass for biggest fish, 18.57 total weight. Photos: CPW
