ππΊπΈ Happy Fourth of July from South Hunt County Fire Rescue! πΊπΈπ
As we celebrate our nationβs independence with family, friends, and fireworks, letβs make safety our top priority. A few simple precautions can help prevent injuries and fires while keeping the celebration fun for everyone.
β
Only use fireworks in a clear, open area away from homes, vehicles, dry grass, and trees.
β
Always have a bucket of water or a charged garden hose nearby.
β
Never allow children to handle or light fireworks.
β
Never relight a βdud.β Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it in water before disposing of it.
β
Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
π¨ If a fire starts:
β’ Move everyone to a safe location immediately.
β’ If it is small and safe to do so, use water or a fire extinguisher.
β’ If the fire begins to spread, leave the area immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to fight a fire that is growing or threatening structures.
Our volunteers are proud to serve this community, but we hope you never need us this holiday. Celebrate responsibly, look out for your neighbors, and help us keep South Hunt County safe.
From all of us at South Hunt County Fire Rescue, have a safe, fun, and Happy Fourth of July! πΊπΈππ
