Amazing how things change!

1950s, Chicago: In the foreground is the Minnetonka, Northern Pacific Railway's first locomotive. Built in 1870, is 27 feet long, 10 fee thigh, weighs 12 tons and cost $6.700. In comparison, the new 4500 H. P. Diesel locomotives which power the streamlined North Coast Limited are 151 feet 4 inches long, 15 feet high, weigh 345 tons and cost $458,000. The headend of one of the Diesels is shown in the background. -"Wheels A-Rolling." (Photo by Kalama Archive / M Bishop). Train travelling through old photos: https://bit.ly/3KEIO0H
