I find myself reading stage play scripts quite a bit. I have always been drawn to them. That should be no surprise to some of you, knowing how much I love theatre. My script collection is pretty impressive.

I probably should have realized that I am a playwright much earlier in life, huh?

Audition Info:
We are looking for 7 actors ages 16 and Up for a table read for a local playwright. The actors will perform the table read live, IN PERSON at the C.E.C. Studio. Actors will provide feedback, get redirects, and read script again. It is a shorter one act comedy, so plenty of time for two reads. *DO NOT AUDITION UNLESS ABLE TO COMMIT TO THE BOOKING DATE.* Must be able to work local to Greeneville, TN.

How to Audition:
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Not My Circus" with desired character name. You will receive a response with the audition sides and detailed instructions. Auditions will be virtual through Self Tape. Audition tapes due by November 24th at noon. Casting announced the 25th of November.

Pay:
No pay, but actors will each receive a free class of their choosing at Collaborative Entertainment Collective. Also great exposure to local directors.

Characters:
THOMAS (30s): Stereo typical accountant-looking type. Glasses, pocket protector, clumsy. Mother has recently passed away. He has found some soul shattering news.

BELLE: Fire Eater at the circus and good friend to Thomas. Warm and comforting personality. Definitely not a girly girl.

ROSARIO: Axe/Knife Thrower. Kind but "rough around the edges" uncle vibe.

JUNIE MAE: Axe/Knife Thrower Assistant/Wife. Very bubbly, loves family. Close part of Thomas' circus family.

RITA AND LITA: Conjoined Twins and Snake Charmers. Thomas has a big brother/baby sister relationship with them (to be read by two actresses)

MR. BIG: Head clown and leader of the entire circus.
