A beautiful Friday!

This photograph of Youth for Christ founder Billy Graham alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is profoundly humbling. There are days when I feel overwhelmed by the challenges ahead. My life’s mission—to create safe and welcoming spaces for young people—can seem like an insurmountable mountain.

Yet, today, I am reminded of whom I serve.

It’s not about an organization; it’s about love. I am merely following in the footsteps of brothers and sisters who fought tirelessly and humbly in love, enabling me to wake up and work each day.

The “Win together, Lose together” motto we uphold at the youth center is a distilled truth echoed by many before us. It still needs to be spoken; it still needs reminding.

I hope that if these men were alive today and I had the opportunity to give them a tour of our facility and introduce them to our staff, they would see that their efforts have borne fruit. I would show them that my reality is closer to what they once envisioned as dreams.
