⚠️ Not every rash is “just a rash.” This patient came in with a painful, blistering rash and was diagnosed with herpes zoster (shingles).

Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you’ve had chickenpox, the virus can remain inactive in your body for years before becoming active again.

Common symptoms include:
-Burning, tingling, or pain before the rash appears
-A red rash with clusters of fluid-filled blisters
-A rash that usually stays on one side of the body
-Sensitivity or discomfort in the affected area

The good news is that early treatment is important. Starting antiviral medication as soon as possible can help shorten the course of the infection, reduce the severity of symptoms, and lower the risk of long-term nerve pain.

If you notice a painful rash that looks similar, don’t ignore it. Getting evaluated early can make a big difference.

☀️ With this week’s heat wave, excessive sweating can become more than just an inconvenience.

Did you know that sweaty palms may be caused by hyperhidrosis, a medical condition that causes excessive sweating even when you’re not hot or exercising?

In today’s video, Dr. Azar explains what hyperhidrosis is and demonstrates how Botox can help reduce excessive sweating in the palms by temporarily blocking the nerves that activate sweat glands. Treatment is quick, performed right in the office, and can provide relief for several months.

If sweaty hands interfere with your work, daily activities, or confidence, we’re here to help.
