As we wind down from May Mental Health Awareness Month we want to THANK YOU and finish out with the following post: YOU GOT THIS!
Hope. Healing. Happiness. Peace:
In the heart of every storm, there is hope — a whisper that things can get better.
In the ache of every wound, there is healing — slow, steady, and sacred.
Beyond every shadow, there is happiness — not always loud, but deeply real.
And in the quiet moments, there is peace — the kind that settles in your soul when you’ve come home to yourself.
You are not broken. You are becoming.
You are not alone. You are growing.
This journey is yours, and every step forward is a step toward the life you deserve.
🕊️ Choose hope.
💛 Embrace healing.
😊 Welcome happiness.
🌸 Live in peace.

May Mental Health Awareness: Day 29: What is CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
What Is CBT?
CBT is grounded in the concept that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected—and that changing negative thoughts and maladaptive behaviors can positively impact our emotions and mental well-being. It is structured, goal-oriented, and typically short-term.
Core Principle: "What we think affects how we feel and what we do."
How CBT Works
CBT typically involves the following steps:
Identifying Negative Thought Patterns:
These might include catastrophizing (expecting the worst), black-and-white thinking, or personalization (blaming yourself for things beyond your control).
Challenging and Restructuring Thoughts:
Therapists help clients question the evidence behind these thoughts and replace them with more balanced, realistic ones.
Behavioral Experiments and Homework:
Clients engage in activities outside of sessions to test new ways of thinking and behaving.
Skill-Building:
Techniques such as relaxation, problem-solving, and assertiveness training are used to strengthen coping strategies.
