Stories From the Doghouse — Episode 2: Love for Music (Part 1)

From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for music.

Growing up, my parents loved putting on records and listening to music. The earliest one I remember was Eddie Rabbitt. He had a hit song called “I Love a Rainy Night”. They'd spin up the record, and we'd all sing and dance around the living room! I also remember singing to the cows with my grandpa, John Witt, out at the ranch in Karval, CO, and I enjoyed listening to my grandma, Lulu May, play the piano. I guess you could say music has always been in our blood on both sides of the family.

One of my fondest memories from when I was a kid was my sister Krissy and me cranking up the music and pretending tennis rackets were guitars. We’d stand on the bed as if it were a stage, playing our tennis racket guitars, and singing along to songs like “Walk Like an Egyptian” by the Bangles.
