We had a great first day and with our second sunrise in the Windy City, we look forward to exceeding yesterday.

We have heard from unreliable sources that no one works downtown on fridays in Chicago corporate culture. However should you find yourself downtown, swing by to see in person the two friendly goofballs who will absolutely try and sell you some scent-sational candles.

It’s 10pm, we just got home from the warehouse maybe 30 minutes ago, still haven’t eaten dinner. The last three nights we’ve been there until after 9pm and I still feel days behind where I’d like to be.
We’re getting ready for this weekend and I’m just trying to get as much done as possible before we have to leave. That included making over 500 bottles of hand wash with our new formula! We have pre orders and wholesale orders that I’m hoping will all get shipped tomorrow.
Owning a small business isn’t easy l, it’s filling with ups and downs but I’m so grateful for all our wonderful customers who keep supporting us every year!

Today feels so heavy and I’m just looking for the light. It’s been forever since I posted anything in our main feed here on IG and it’s mainly because there has been so much going on in the world that sometimes talking about candles can feel very insignificant.

But I think we could all benefit from lighting a few candles tonight and trying our best to relax.

Does anyone else mark time by the flowers? What I mean is I might not remember what day or week it was but I’ll remember if the tulips had come up yet, or if lilac was in bloom. Had the spirea finished for the season yet or were their fluffy white branches still all over town. I’ll remember if it happened during the two weeks of the year I can get peonies at the farmers market, or if it was late enough in the summer for dahlias.

I picked up a few stems of spirea over the weekend .studio and this simple vase has been bringing me joy all week. I’ve been reflecting on where I was a year ago and trying to give myself grace for all the changes that have happened and for making it through.

Nature reminds me to just put one foot in front of the other, and that everything blooms in its own time.
