Wayne Miedema, a Climate Witness Project organizer, recently met with his local Member of Parliament to share a letter and discuss gaps in Canada’s National Electricity Strategy.
During the meeting, he focused on two major concerns: the allowance for new fossil fuel generation and the risk that a compressed timeline could bypass proper, meaningful consultation with Indigenous groups.
His MP agreed with both points and said she would bring Wayne's letter directly to the Minister and her caucus.
