Western Slope Fire Wire

🚨 New Start Wildfire - Brushy Ridge Fire 🚨
📍 Collbran, CO (Mesa County)

A new wildfire started on Brush Creek Road (64 3/10 Road) near Collbran at around 6pm today, March 26th.

At about 6:30pm, the fire was estimated to be about 7-8 acres and was pushing east in heavy sage and pinion juniper. Since then, a wind shift has pushed the fire south. Units on scene are reporting the fire is spotting 40 yards out.

Evacuations are now being set up for those up to 1 ½ miles from the fire.

Brush Creek Command is advising that helicopters will be used on this fire tomorrow morning if any are available.
