When we do our intakes, we will discuss what your current ‘diet’ looks like. We do not believe in nor do we encourage or promote fad, crash diets or doing things like a severe caloric deficit. What we are discussing is being MINDFUL of what you are consuming, and maintaining a healthy balance. It is often the small, manageable adjustments that will make the largest difference, because they are realistic and EASY to implement into your day to day life, without adding more stress and strain to the process.
Here’s a few simple, yet effective habits to build a healthy, mindful eating practice, that will help promote fat loss….
-Choose single, whole ingredient foods vs complex, highly produced items. Ex: Looking for a side for your grilled chicken tonight? Choose steamed broccoli and cauliflower over that Rice-a-roni side.
-Don’t avoid fat. Fat IS NOT the enemy! But, make sure that you are choosing healthy, clean fats such as fats from avocados, fish, whole eggs, dark chocolate, or nuts.
-Drink MORE water! If you think you’re drinking enough as is, add another liter in your day!
-More protein! It’s a longer burning fuel, that will leave you sustained longer throughout the day.
-Limit added sugars! If you’re looking for your desert at the end of the day, choose the smoothie or fruit in water over the high sugar dosed cupcake. Although, SOMETIMES, you’ve gotta choose the cupcake, too…it should just be the exception, not the general rule.
