Luke Martinez | Artist Spotlight at First Street Tattoo Parlor 06/03/2026

Artist Spotlight | Luke Martinez

Tattooing since 2005, Luke Martinez has built his approach to the craft around tradition, humility, and a commitment to creating tattoos that stand the test of time.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Luke shares his thoughts on mentorship, family, tattoo culture, and the lessons that continue to shape him nearly two decades into his career.

One piece of advice from an old tattooer has stayed with him ever since:

"The minute you think you know everything is the minute your career is over."

In our latest Artist Spotlight, Luke reflects on the people who influenced him, what keeps him growing, and what being part of First Street Tattoo Parlor means to him.

SOLIDARITY PROJECT - 100 Neighbors Fed (TODAY 11/26 @ NOON)

Please share and spread to anyone who could use a meal.

First Street Tattoo Parlor - 1119 N. 1st St., Unit B
Look for the sign in the parking lot.

Today we’ll be serving a hot meal for anyone who needs one (vegan options available). We’ve prepared enough for about 100–120 people, and every plate is offered with respect, privacy, and zero judgment. Your situation doesn’t need to be explained to anyone - just come through, grab what you need, and head out knowing you’re welcome here.

If you’re able to stop by in person, please do. Our resources are stretched thin and we want to make sure the food reaches as many neighbors as possible.

If getting here isn’t an option, we’ll have drivers heading out every hour. Send First Street Tattoo Parlor a message and we’ll get you on the delivery list.

Along with a hot meal, we’ll also have a limited number of food bags, winter clothing, and basic supplies available.

We are fully staffed and fully stocked for today, but if you’d like to support future efforts, we’re always accepting non-perishable foods and winter clothing at the shop.

We love this city and the people in it. This is just one small way we can show it. See you soon.
