"I am a Finance intern at Legacy Financial Partners in Dickinson, North Dakota.
My favorite part of the internship so far has been sitting in client meetings with financial advisors, especially when a client realizes they are on track to retire. Seeing them realize their hard work has paid off and watching that excitement on their face is something special.
I got my position because I sent an email to my neighbor, who is a financial advisor, and asked if they were looking for any interns for the summer. They were, so I got an interview and got offered the role. The Pancratz Center supported me by giving me access to the Freeman Professional Closet, where I was able to get professional clothing for interviews and my internship, as well as a professional headshot that I use on LinkedIn.
My biggest piece of advice would be to stay persistent. Don't hesitate to reach out to anyone that might be able to help you out. You never know what a single email can lead to. "
