Elkhart County is under a tornado watch until 8:00 p.m. tonight. Here is a helpful chart to show the difference between a watch and a warning.

Above freezing temperatures this afternoon had allowed for some snow melt to occur. Cold ground conditions along with sunset and falling temperatures back below freezing will yield patchy black ice formation this evening on untreated roads, especially in open areas where some blowing snow occurred this afternoon. Motorists should exercise extreme caution.
